Georgetown is the larger of Halton Hills' two villages — a nineteenth-century mill town on Silver Creek whose downtown still carries its Victorian and Edwardian housing, surrounded by subdivision built from the 1970s onward as the town grew into a commuter community.

Those two zones need different approaches. In the old core, texture was typically applied over original plaster during a mid-century renovation; the removal is more delicate, the substrate underneath sometimes needs repair, and the job is worth quoting in person. In the surrounding subdivision, the texture is builder-applied on drywall and behaves predictably.
