North York grew faster than almost anywhere in post-war Canada, and its housing from Willowdale, Bathurst Manor and Don Mills through Downsview was finished in the decades when sprayed texture was simply how ceilings were done. Don Mills in particular, as Canada's first planned corporate suburb, is a near-perfect time capsule of 1950s and 1960s finishes.
